Frequently Asked Questions
Is GymPulse free?
Yes — there is no subscription or monthly fee. You only pay a small commission on paid transactions that go through the app, like space hire or equipment rentals.
How does the commission work?
When a payment is processed through GymPulse, the platform commission is 1% of the transaction — with a minimum of 50¢ NZD and a maximum of 100 NZD. On a $10 class booking you pay 50¢. On a $50 session it's still 50¢. Above $50 the 1% naturally exceeds the floor and takes over. Simple.
Why is there a minimum of 50¢?
Very small transactions generate real overhead — payment processing, accounting, support infrastructure. The 50¢ floor ensures GymPulse remains sustainable on low-value bookings. For any transaction over $50 NZD, pure 1% applies and the floor is irrelevant.
What counts as a paid transaction?
Any booking or hire facilitated through GymPulse where money changes hands — space hire, equipment rentals, solo customer sessions. Features like scoreboards, team management, and accounting are always free.
Who pays the commission — me or my customers?
That's up to you. You can absorb it into your pricing or pass it on. GymPulse deducts it at the point of transaction so you never have to invoice us separately.
What is the cap for?
The 100 NZD cap ensures large transactions aren't penalised disproportionately. A $10,000 booking still only attracts $100 in platform commission — the same as a $10,000 one.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed via Stripe, supporting all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.
